In a place far away there lived a married couple who always wanted to have a daughter, but never could. They lived in a cabin surrounded by farm animals, a beautiful place to live.

One stormy night an old lady knocked on the door of their house looking for shelter, “top, top, top”, good evening, kind sirs I am sorry to bother you, but please I would like to ask you to give me your house for tonight so I can rest, because of the storm I cannot continue on my way.

Of course, if you would, old lady, please come in to our humble home. They sat down in their dining room and lit the fireplace to warm up the cold atmosphere.

Excuse me, could you tell me your name, “my name is Beatriz” I live 3 kilometers from your house, on the highest mountain.

We are a family, my name is Marian and this is my husband Dered.

It is very nice to meet you gentlemen, it is very beautiful to meet a happy family, your children must be very happy to have such close parents.

Marian and Dered looked at each other and did not know what to answer, there was a sepulchral silence for a minute.

Dear Beatriz, we don’t have sons, how much we would like a daughter, but destiny can’t give us one.

Beatriz looked attentively into their eyes, sighed and said, “I am so sorry.

I am very sorry, life is not always as we expect, but I tell you one thing, have a lot of faith, I assure you that something good is waiting for us.

The next morning, through Marian and Dered’s window, a radiant sun entered directly to Marian’s belly, they woke her up because of the noise of the farm animals, they went to look for old Beatriz to wake her up and invite her to breakfast, they were very surprised to find the room just as they left it “as if nobody had been there”, they went to look for the living room, kitchen and dining room. But Beatriz was not there, Marian might be outside with the animals, they searched and searched, but they could not find her.

Days and weeks went by. Marian felt very different, with symptoms she never had in her life. They decided to go to the doctor, great was their surprise when they heard him say “Mrs. Marian, you are going to have a daughter”. Surprised and with great illusion and happiness they waited for the birth of their daughter, whom they would call Esperanza!

The long awaited day arrived for Marian and Dered, finally they would have “Esperanza” in their arms.

Happiness reigned forever, the beloved little princess grew up with much love, being called the little princess of hope when she grew up!
