The Rain Princess

The Rain PrincessShort tale: The Rain Princess

One very very rainy day, the princess and other children were playing at home, the rain did not stop and went on, it seemed as if there was no end to it.

The king sent his daughter and her friend the rabbit to find out what was going on.

They arrived at a mountain where there was a small green entity, similar to a troll, who promised the princess to get rid of the rain if she would give him a kiss of love.

The princess refused and the rain continued for years and years, so much so that 30 years passed.

One day, tired of the eternal bad weather, she agreed to go to the mountain to see the troll and, to her surprise… he was gone.

The troll had perished and with him, any solution to improve the weather.

She cried and cried, until a God heard her, he granted her one wish: to bring back the troll to help her.

Why didn’t she ask for the rain to stop?

Because she had a good heart.

Seeing this action, the troll promised to stop the rain completely.

They all lived happily and the troll became friends with the rain princess.

END

Reflection on the story: This story can convey several reflections, depending on the interpretation given to it. However, one possible reflection is that sometimes solutions to our problems may require sacrifices and acts of bravery. In the story, the princess refused to give the troll a kiss to stop the rain, but after 30 years of suffering, she finally realized that she needed to do something to solve the problem. By asking for the troll to be brought back, she demonstrated her compassion and empathy, which in turn led to a peaceful solution to the troubling weather.

In addition, the story can convey the idea that second chances are possible and that people can change. The troll, who originally demanded a kiss of love as payment to stop the rain, eventually becomes friends with the princess and promises to stop the rain without asking for anything in return. This can be interpreted as an example of how even those who seem evil or selfish can change and show kindness and generosity.
