Enjoy it! Here’s the audio story!
Once upon a time there was a very beautiful and kind princess who lived in a kingdom far away. Her father, the king, was very rich and powerful, but also very greedy and selfish. He had a large collection of precious metals that he kept in a secret chest in his palace. Among all the metals, his favorite was copper, because it shone like the sun and had a very beautiful reddish color.
One day, the princess turned 18 and her father told her that he was going to give her something very special. He took her to the secret chest and showed her his collection of metals. The princess was amazed to see so much gold, silver, platinum and other metals she didn’t know. But what struck her most was the copper. She found it so beautiful and warm that she asked her father to give her a piece.
The king was very angry to hear his daughter’s request. He thought copper was the most valuable metal and did not want to share it with anyone. He told the princess that she was foolish and ungrateful for asking him for copper and not another more expensive metal. He told her that copper was magic and that only he could use it. He told her that if she touched the copper, she would turn into a frog.
The princess was frightened to hear her father’s words. She didn’t know whether to believe him or not, but she didn’t want to risk losing her human form. So she apologized to her father and told him that she liked gold. The king gave her a gold necklace and sent her to her room.
But the princess was not happy with the gold necklace. She kept thinking about copper and its supposed magical power. She wondered if her father had lied to her or if there was something else behind that metal. So that night, when everyone was asleep, the princess slipped out of her room and went to the secret chest. Very carefully, she opened the chest and took out a piece of copper. She looked at it curiously and touched it with her hand.
And then something incredible happened: the copper was transformed into a very handsome and smiling prince who hugged and kissed her. The princess was dumbfounded to see what had happened. The prince explained that he was the son of a neighboring king who had been bewitched by the princess’s father. The evil king had turned him into copper to steal his kingdom and fortune. He told her that only true love could break the spell and that she was the one.
The princess fell in love with the prince instantly and he fell in love with her. The two decided to run away from the palace and live happily ever after in the prince’s kingdom. But before they left, they left a note for the evil king telling him that they had discovered his secret and that they had freed the “Copper Prince”. They told him that he was the real fool for believing that copper was more valuable than love.
