The Little Mermaid (Ariel)

The Little Mermaid (Ariel)Short tale: The Little Mermaid (Ariel)

In the depths of the sea, there lived a little mermaid named Ariel.

She was fascinated by exploring her underwater world with her friend Flounder, but she dreamed of living on the surface.

Ariel was always on the lookout for human treasures.

When Ariel and Flounder found a strange, spiky object, they swam to the surface to see their friend Scuttle.

“It’s a junk!” said Scuttle.

Ariel’s Dad was Triton, the King of the Sea. He believed that humans were not to be trusted.

When Triton found out that Ariel had come to the surface, he forbade her to do it again.

And to make sure she obeyed him, he assigned Sebastian as her chaperone.

But Ariel continued to surface. One night, a terrible storm raged at sea.

Ariel and Flounder saw a Prince fall from a ship. “I must rescue him!” Ariel shouted.

Ariel took Prince Eric to shore and sang him a song. But she returned to the sea before he woke up.

Prince Eric only got to see Ariel for a second, but he knew he would never forget that beautiful voice.

Eager to see Prince Eric one more time, Ariel agreed to give her voice to the sea witch – Ursula.

For evil purposes, Ursula created a spell and turned Ariel human.

But if Prince Eric did not kiss Ariel before sunset, on the third day, she would become a mermaid again.

Or worse, the sea would belong to Ursula!

Captivated by her beauty, Prince Eric showed Ariel his kingdom.

Ariel was fascinated to be with the Prince – out of the sea. But time passed, and they had not kissed.

To prevent Prince Eric from falling in love with Ariel, Ursula transformed herself into a beautiful young woman named Vanessa.

She wanted to make Prince Eric fall in love with her, instead of Ariel.

As Vanessa, Ursula used Ariel’s voice to cast a spell on Prince Eric. She made him believe he was in love.

So in love that he was even going to marry Vanessa! Ariel lost his true love.

Just before sunset on the third day, Scuttle discovered that Vanessa was actually Ursula, and rushed to tell Ariel.

While Sebastian went to find King Triton; Ariel and Flounder went to Prince Eric’s ship.

With the help of her friends, Ariel managed to stop the wedding and regained her voice.

When the spell was broken, Prince Eric realized that Ariel was his true love. But it was too late…

It was already dark before they could kiss. Ariel became a mermaid again, and came under Ursula’s control.

To rescue his daughter, King Triton gave all his powers to Ursula and became her prisoner. “Now the whole ocean is all mine!” cried Ursula.

As Ursula grew to show her power, Prince Eric jumped into an old ship.

He rammed the splintered bowsprit through Ursula’s heart. With a single scream, the sea witch disappeared into the waves.

Without Ursula, King Triton regained his powers. He noticed Ariel’s love for Prince Eric and granted her greatest wish: to be human!

Ariel and Prince Eric got married. And they lived happily in a castle by the sea.
