¡In the water, Duckling!

¡In the water, Duckling!Short tale: ¡In the water, Duckling!

Once upon a time there was a small, beautiful, smart, yellow duckling who liked to play, run, sing, jump and swim.

But he didn’t like to take a shower.

His mama duck, worried, made up a song for him. Taking the sponge and soap, she sang in the bathtub:

“Into the water, duckling, we’re going to wash ourselves and with the little soap we’re going to rub ourselves”.

The duckling heard the song and hid under the bed, but mama duck continued to sing it.

The duckling, curious, wanted to see what mama duck was doing in the bathroom and ….

“¡QUAC!” the duckling shouted.

Mama duck was playing and singing, amused by the foam. ¡She was having so much fun!

The duckling ran to dive into the bathtub, to sing the song and play with his mama duck.

Reflection on the story: The story teaches us that sometimes we need to be creative to motivate children to do activities they don’t like, such as taking a shower. Instead of forcing the duckling to take a shower, his mama duck made up a fun song and made him curious so that he would eventually join her in the bath.
